4/19/19 Softball: El Camino 11, Vista 6
The El Camino softball team came out swinging on Friday, beating Vista 11-6, in an Avocado East matchup.
Mariah Flores gave the Lady Wildcats the early lead in the 1st inning, hitting the ball at least 20 feet over and past the center field wall.
The Lady Panthers tied it up at 1 when a RBI groundout by Reyna Delgado scored Gisselle Gutierrez from 3rd base.
El Camino re-took teh lead in the top of the 3rd inning. They got a Sacrifice Fly from Jade Ignacio, pulled off a double-steal for another run by Dakota Edwards and Flores, an RBI Single by Samantha Quintero, and an RBI Single Kylie Yant to take a 5-1 lead.
Stephanie Lopez scored on Yasmin Gutierrez’ sacrifice fly in the bottom of teh inning to cut it to 5-2, but in the top of the 4th, Reanna Naenu singled home Brianna Shea and Flores. Naennu came around to score on Quintero’s RBI Single.
The Lady Wildcats added a run in the 6th and a run in the 7 to make it 11-3 going into the bottom of the 7th.
Vista’s Felicita Porter hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 7th to make it 11-6, but that is where the rally ended for the Lady Panthers.
Vista plays leagu & crosstown-rival, Rancho Buena Vista on Wednesday, while El Camino plays host to Sage Creek on Monday.
