4/3/19 Softball: Rancho Buena Vista 17, San Dieguito Academy 0

Rancho Buena Vista broke out the big bats to take down Avocado East rival, San Dieguito Academy, 17-0, on Wednesday afternoon. It was the league opener for both teams.

The Lady Longhorns scored 6 times in the 2nd inning, 5 times in the 3rd inning, and 5 times in the 4th inning.

In the 3rd inning, the big hit was Ava Bradford’s 3-run home run to center field. Bradford finished the day 2-for-4 with 3 RBI. She also pitched the complete game, albeit a mercy-rule 5 innings, with 7 strikeouts and only allowed 2 hits.

In the 4th inning, it was Paige Dimler hitting a 2-run dinger over the right field wall. Dimler got on base all four times she batted and scored all four times as well.

Lily Vivian went 3-for-3 with 2 singles and a double with 3 runs scored.

The Lady Longhorns got o 5-4-1 on the season and 1-0 in league play. They will play Rancho Beranrdo on Friday in the annual Falcon Fiesta Softball Tournament.
