4/5/19 Girls Basketball: North 65, South 64

The second annual Bill Dickens East County Girls Senior All-Star basketball game took place at Mt. Miguel.

Mt. Miguel’s Lalli Gurrola wins the three-point contest at the buzzer by making her eleventh shot in sixty seconds.

Christian’s Yesi Smith scores a team-high 21 points. El Cajon Valley’s Lillian Akintonde made a nice move to slip by her defender and score off the glass.

The North was down by two points with twelve seconds remaining when Monte Vista’s Sara Taha makes the three-ball to the win the game 65-64. Taha is also the MVP for the North.

Mt. Miguel’s Tiaja Bennett is the South MVP with a game-high 26 points.
