$5 million public works to promote safety in Carlsbad’s oldest neighborhood

CARLSBAD (KUSI) – U.S. Representative Mike Levin (D-CA), Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall, and other City Council members  held a press conference Tuesday, Aug. 23 to discuss new federal funding Rep. Levin secured for the city to improve pedestrian infrastructure and slow down traffic in the Barrio neighborhood.

Earlier this year, Rep. Levin helped secure $5 million for the City of Carlsbad to advance the Carlsbad Barrio Street Lighting and Traffic Circles Project.  The Barrio, Carlsbad’s oldest neighborhood, will have improved pedestrian walkability and safety.

KUSI’s Ed Lenderman went live to showcase some of the city’s newest additions, and explain how recent and future construction will promote community safety.
