5-year-old child hospitalized after being struck by vehicle in San Marcos

SAN MARCOS (CNS) – A 5-year-old child was hit by a car in San Marcos Wednesday and was conscious and breathing when taken to a hospital.

According to Lt. Robert Smith of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the child was truck around 6:43 p.m. at 458 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road. 

The driver stayed on scene, Smith said.

The current condition of the child was unknown and details of the incident are still under investigation.
