59-year-old woman struck by vehicle in Mira Mesa

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 59-year-old woman was struck by a car while crossing a street in Mira Mesa early Friday morning.

The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for a broken wrist, a broken leg and a fractured pelvis after she was struck by a 2003 Mercedes Benz in the crosswalk on Mira Mesa Boulevard near Camino Ruiz shortly before 4 a.m., San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick said.

The 27-year-old man behind the wheel of the Mercedes stopped after the crash and was not suspected of drunken driving, Battrick said. It was not immediately clear whether he would face charges in connection with the crash.
