60-year-old bicyclist sustains broken skull after falling in Mira Mesa
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A 60-year-old bicyclist fell in Mira Mesa Saturday and sustained a broken skull and other life-threatening head injuries.
The rider was headed south on Montongo Street near New Salem Street shortly before 1 p.m. when he lost control, fell and struck his head on the ground, San Diego police Officer Ray Battrick said. He was not wearing a helmet.
He was taken to a hospital to be treated for a skull fracture and other head injuries, Battrick said.
