A Real Dud!

Wednesday, May 4, 2011 – Fireworks fans called KUSI's Michael Turko about new pollution rules scheduled to take effect this summer. Turko says the new rules allow the same fireworks shows we've seen for years, but the cost of those shows will skyrocket!

Fireworks shows over local bays and the ocean have been a tradition for decades. But last year fringe environmentalists led by lawyer Marco Gonzalez started filing lawsuits, claiming the fireworks caused water pollution, and required permits under federal law. So now local water officials have come up with a plan… a plan fireworks fans, business leaders, and industry experts say is a real dud!
