Active-duty Navy Military police officer arrested in connection to sexual assault of 14-year-old girl

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — An active-duty Navy Military police officer was arrested Thursday in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old female.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 17, the Oceanside Police Department received a call of a sexual assault of a juvenile female.

Investigating officers discovered the 14-year-old victim was contacted by the suspect using an app called "Spotafriend," which allows teens between the ages of 13-19 to message and/or meet one another.

The suspect spoke to the victim for two days before meeting at an undisclosed location where the assault occurred.

Detectives were called to the scene and concluded the suspect provided false information to create a profile of a 17-year-old black male.

On Thursday, the suspect was positively identified as 21-year-old active duty Navy Military police officer, Isaiah Jackson and was taken into custody without incident at 11 p.m.

He is being held at the Vista Detention Facility on charges that include PC 261(a)(2) Rape.

Jackson is assigned to the San Diego Naval station.

The investigation at this time suggests this was an isolated incident.  The Oceanside Police Department continues to actively pursue all leads to this case.  If anyone has additional information, please contact our tip line at 760-435-4730.
