Four year old “Inuk” is a retired greyhound residing at the Greyhound Adoption Center in El Cajon. He arrived with Ketchikan, Kiana, and Wintu from the Caliente racetrack on September 1, 2018. The dogs were named for wolves residing at the California Wolf Center near Julian. Inuk needs more exposure to cats before he could be placed with one, but he would be happy living with a small dog perhaps 25 pounds or over. Inuk is an energetic, strong greyhound and would do best being placed in a busy home with older, respectful children due to his enthusiasm!

All dogs from the Greyhound Adoption Center have a complete medical evaluation, are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and undergo a thorough dental cleaning. They are then fully evaluated for temperament and personality as well as tested with cats, small dogs, and young children before being profiled for a home.

Please come out and meet Inuk and his 45 companions on Sunday, December 16, 2018 when the Greyhound Adoption Center hosts an Open House and tour of their facility from 1:00 – 3:00 PM. The address is 4821 Dehesa Road in El Cajon. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the breed, greyhound rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and volunteer opportunities. Private tours may be arranged by appointment. For more information or to schedule a private tour, call toll free at 1-877-478-8364, visit, send a message or follow GAC on Facebook!
