Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation Gala to Benefit Educational Program

Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation presents the Discovery Gala 2019 from 6 to 10 p.m. August 24 at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation’s award-winning educational academy which teaches elementary school students about responsible and balanced use of the watershed.

“We educate students about nature in nature cultivating a future generation of environmental stewards. Outdoor classrooms allow the lessons to be full of movement and interaction,” stated Cierra Russo, Director of Education for the Foundation. “Programs are grade specifically designed so students learn something different each year.”

The Foundation is hoping to grow the program to 10,000 students during the 2019-2020 school year.

“We continually look for ways to assist school districts so their students can attend the Academy,” noted Lisa Rodman, CEO of the Foundation. “Our fundraising efforts help to make field trips possible for school districts across San Diego County.”

The theme of this year’s gala is “Bond – The Lagoon that Loved Me.”

Attendees will enjoy a thrilling “007” inspired evening with a casino, live band dance party, and scrumptious multi-course dinner. Festivities also include a 100-item silent auction, a live auction with Bond-inspired one-of-a-kind items and spectacular opportunity style drawings for casino winners.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.aguahedionda.org or by calling 760-804-1969.
