Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game: Brawley Wildcats 0 at Otay Ranch Mustangs 35

The Week 11 Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game ending with as much spirit as it started. Otay Ranch with the shutout victory 35-0 over Brawley.

It was the defense that kept the game in the Mustangs favor. Big sacks and third down stops enabled the offense to go to work. Sam Stephens had a nice night rushing the ball with one touchdown on the night. He would also block a field goal. The punt block by Hector Gonzalez put the Mustangs in perfect position to add on their lead. Backup quarterback Arturo Saenz looked anything but a backup. Saenz putting up two touchdowns and rushing for one.

"I knew I had to take control of my team and lead us to victory," said Saenz after the game.

Their was a lot of penalties in the first half but then it settled down. The second half was filled with more defensive stops to where Brawley could never get anything going. The lead for the Mustangs kept growing. Geri Madlambayan with the solid rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach.

Up next for Otay Ranch they will travel to face 3 seeded Granite Hills. Highlights will be seen on The Prep Pigskin Report at 10:30.


The Week 12 Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game brings us to Otay Ranch as they host Brawley in the first round of the Division 2 playoffs.

The Mustangs earning a 6 seed in the post season with their 5-5 overall record including a 2-2 record in league play. They are led by senior quarterback Oscar Limon who has over 1,300 passing yards and 12 touchdowns on the season. His favorite target is fellow senior Adrian Rodriguez who has 7 touchdown catches on the year. Senior running back Samuel Stephens is just shy of a 1,000 yard rushing season and could possibly break that mark this game. The team is coming off a tough loss to Bonita Vista and will be trying to bounce right back.

The Wildcats on the other hand are bringing momentum from a two game winning streak going  into the playoffs. They finished the season 6-4 including 4-1 in league play. They are led by senior running back Nathan Suits. Suits’ has had 7 games where he rushed for over 100 yards. He also has 20 touchdown runs on the season.
