Alpine Sheriff’s deputies search for suspects who attempted to lure 10-year-old girl into van

ALPINE (KUSI) – Alpine Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for two male suspects who approached a 10-year-old girl Monday afternoon and tried to lure her into their van

The 10-year-old was outside playing in an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Arnold Way in Alpine.

A white van with two male suspects approached the victim. One of the suspects asked the victim if she wanted a ride. He then asked her if she wanted candy and said he had some in the van.

The second suspect, the passenger, stayed in the van. The victim was able to run away and hid in some bushes.

Her parents were notified and Sheriff’s deputies responded to investigate the case.

The investigation is continuing.

The suspect’s description is as follows: White male adult with freckles on his face, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the drawstring pulled tight around his face, black sweatpants. There is no description of the second suspect. The vehicle description is a white minivan with tinted windows down the sides, a pink breast cancer sticker on the back door and two pieces of lumber on top of the van.
