Alzheimer’s Association’s international conference

At July’s Alzheimer’s Association International Conference thousands of researchers gathered to share information on the status of research projects funded by the Association with the hope of finding a cure.

On August 15th Alzheimer’s Association’s Chief Science Offer, Dr. Maria Carrillo, highlight some of the findings including:

1) Disparity of rates of Alzheimer’s between career women and stay-at-home moms
2) Revelations about lifestyle choices that may prevent onset of dementia.
3) How close we are to an effective blood test for diagnosis, and what that means
4) Diversity in clinical trials, as well as Alzheimer’s impact in diverse communities
