Amber Alert canceled after five-year-old girl dropped off in Temecula

TEMECULA (KUSI) — An Amber Alert issued overnight in Riverside County was called off Monday morning after the missing five-year-old girl was found safe in Temecula.

Authorities believe 32-year-old Julio Gomez took Aaliyah Gomez from Lemoore near Fresno and was headed to the U.S.-Mexico border, before Gomez stopped in Temecula Monday morning and dropped Aaliyah off with family, a California Highway Patrol official said.

The Amber Alert was canceled at about 5:00 a.m.

The relationship between Gomez and Aaliyah was not disclosed.

It is unclear if Gomez or his vehicle has been found or is still being pursued. Authorities consider Gomez armed and dangerous.

He was described as a 5 foot 7 inches tall man weighing 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts and Puma sandals. Identifying features include tattoos on his chest, arms, neck and calves.

Gomez’ vehicle was described as a brown 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck with California License plate number 8C25215.

Anyone with information was asked to call authorities.
