American Sniper co-author fires back at critics
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The movie American Sniper is raking money at the box office, but not without its critics.
The co-author of the best-selling book was in studio Tuesday to talk about the film’s critics.
Some hail him as a hero, some call him a cold blooded killer, but Chris Kyle’s close friend and co-author, said he was speaking on behalf of his friend in response to criticism of the movie.
The book, American Sniper, was huge success when it was published in January of 2013.
Chris Kyle died when he was shot and killed a month later, but his story lives on.
The film’s biggest critic is perhaps movie maker Michael Moore, who tweeted out “We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot you in the back and invaders are worse.”
Actor Seth Rogan also said, “American Sniper looks like a military propaganda film,” but later apologized for the tweet.
