AMR Launches Free Child Car Seat Safety Stations in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, three out of four child safety seats are improperly installed.

To improve these numbers, AMR, in partnership with the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, launched a Car Seat Safety Stations in City Heights and Encanto where AMR’s Certified Car Seat Safety Technicians will be available to check if car seats are properly installed and help install new ones.

The City Heights station will be open from 11:00am-1:30pm on the second Wednesday of each month. The Encanto station, located at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, 6401 Skyline Drive San Diego, CA 92114, will also be open on the second Wednesday of each month, from 2:30pm–5:00pm.

These new stations will complement two other AMR Car Seat Safety Stations in Chula Vista (Rohr Park) and Encinitas (Encinitas Community Center), which are held on the first Monday of the
month.

The service is free to the public.
