Annual homelessness rate increase nationwide

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The Department of Housing and Urban Development reported data on homelessness throughout the nation this year, according to a study.

The nationwide homeless population increased by over 2% with over 560,000 people experiencing homelessness on any given night in 2019.

This is an increase by over 14,000 compared to 2018.

The study also shows that while nationwide numbers are up, rates of homeless veterans and children have decreased by 2%.
