Man held for allegedly firing on passing cars in California

MORENO VALLEY, Calif.

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man they say opened fire on passing cars in the middle of a busy Southern California street.

Police say the man stood in the street and fired several rounds Tuesday on Allessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley, east of Los Angeles.

Nobody was hurt but a car carrying a family of five had its rear window shattered.

Thirty-three-year-old Pierre Drew was arrested at the scene. It isn’t immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

KABC-TV reports that police recovered a handgun.

Investigators are trying to determine a motive for the attack.
