Apollo 11 50th anniversary celebration at SD Air & Space Museum

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – “The Day We Walked on the Moon,” a documentary produced by the Smithsonian Channel exclusively for Smithsonian affiliates, aired today at the San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park, exactly fifty years to the day of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins’ historic mission to the Moon a half century ago.

The event was the only one of its kind in the Southwest Region on the exact 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11’s Moon landing on July 20, 1969, the first time mankind set foot on the Moon.

KUSI’s Dave Scott was live at the museum to talk to people who attended the event, as well as museum staff.
