Arrest made in weekend murder of taxi driver
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A La Mesa man is in custody on suspicion of
murder in the slaying of a taxi driver in Lemon Grove over the weekend.
Demetrius Sissac, 19, was arrested at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, San Diego
sheriff's Lt Larry Nesbit said without elaboration.
Jalaludin Hamrah, a 39-year-old immigrant from Afghanistan, was found
dead in a in his cab, which rolled over in the 3400 block of Main Street around
3:50 a.m. Sunday. Paramedics discovered a bullet wound in his upper body when
they pulled him from the wreckage.
Sissac was being held without bail in the San Diego central jail and
scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday, according to jail records.
