Arrests made after Tijuana residents steal razor wire from border wall

TIJUANA (KUSI) – The concertina wire used to reinforce the US-Mexico border is being stolen and sold by Tijuana residents for protection due to the city’s high crime rate.

Monday, contractors were seen at the border fence replacing some of the stolen wire. Some homes in the same area were seen with the razor wire for an added layer of protection.

The residents refused to say where they got the material. In 2018, Tijuana was ranked the most violent city in the world with about seven homicides per day.
