Athlete completes her first multi-sport event after becoming paralyzed

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Christina Easler was an Ironman Triathlon finisher who was hit by a truck from behind while out training on her bike in July of 2018 and left paralyzed from the waist down.

The Challenged Athlete Foundation reached out to her and sent her a handcycle for her 2019 grant and was flown to San Diego for a paratriathlon camp.

Recently she did her first multi-sport event since her accident when she went 1.5 kilometers in her everyday wheelchair, rode for handcycle for 20 kilometers and then did a 5 kilometer push in her everyday chair.

She talked to Good Morning San Diego about being excited to race again.
