Attack in Somalia leaves at least 79 dead from car bomb

SOMALIA (KUSI) – At least 79 people are dead and 149 more are injured after a massive car bomb exploded in Mogadishu, Somalia.

The attacker drove his vehicle into a busy checkpoint linked to the capitol during rush hour at about 8:00 a.m.

Both civilians and soldiers are among the dead, and police warn that the death toll could rise as many of the wounded have been rushed to the hospital.
