Attempted child abduction in University Heights
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego police were on the lookout Friday for a masked man who attempted to lure a 10-year-old boy into his minivan in the University Heights neighborhood, a police sergeant said.
The boy was riding his bike in the 4500 block of Mississippi Street near Meade Avenue shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday when the suspect pulled up in front of him in a 1990s Plymouth Voyager with oxidized paint and blacked out rear windows, according to San Diego police Sgt. Brad O’Donnell.
The driver, who the victim said was wearing black clothing and a black ski mask, got out and began to open the sliding side door and ordered the boy to get inside, O’Donnell said.
But the boy rode away instead, and the suspect drove off in an unknown direction, according to the sergeant.
