Attorney General Merrick Garland appoints Special Counsel to investigate President Biden

WASHINGTON D.C. (KUSI) – Attorney General Merrick Garland appoints a special counsel to investigate President Biden’s handling of classified documents from the Obama administration on Thursday.

Garland announced, “U.S. Attorney Lausch and his team of prosecutors and agents have conducted this initial investigation with professionalism and speed. I am grateful to them. Earlier today, I saw – I signed an order appointing Robert Hur as special counsel for the matter I’ve just described. The document authorizes him to investigate whether any person or entity violated the law in connection with this matter.”

The second batch of the classified documents were found in Biden’s garage, while the first batch was found at the “Biden Center.”

Thursday, President Biden downplayed the issue, saying the second batch of documents were stored in a locked garage, along with his corvette.
