Authorities bring fallen Officer De Guzman’s daughter to school

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — About a dozen police cars from San Diego PD and Chula Vista PD escorted the daughter of fallen officer, "J.D." De Guzman, back to school Tuesday.

Cell phone video shows staff and classmates standing outside, eagerly awaiting her arrival to show their love and support.

Amira has been out of school since her father gave his life in the life of duty on July 28.

These officers made, what was sure to be a tough day, a little easier for her.

Honoring their commitment to support the family through the tough times, they were there to take her to school since her father could not.

Amira put on the brave face we’ve all seen from her over the past couple of weeks.

She was greeted by her friends, teachers and the principal of Heritage Elementary School.

After hugs and thanks you’s to her family in blue, Amira was all smiles as she linked arms with a friend and headed off to class.
