Authorities investigating man’s suspicious death in Midway area

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Homicide detectives are investigating as suspicious the death of a man who had caused a disturbance at a business in the Midway area early Saturday.

San Diego Police Lt. Mike Hastings said the man, in his 30s, was involved in an altercation inside the unidentified business on the 3300 block of Midway Drive, and became combative while being escorted to a parking lot, where he lost consciousness at 12:05 a.m.

Hastings said the man, who was not identified, was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Homicide investigators were called to the scene “out of an abundance of caution,” to follow up the death, Hastings said.
