Authorities seek suspects that took off in car after crashing into it

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – Police Sunday sought the public’s help in locating three suspects who, while in a vehicle, crashed into another vehicle at a freeway offramp and while exchanging information took the car as well as the occupant’s cell phones, a wallet and a purse.

The crash at the Nobel Drive offramp to the Jacob Dekema (805) Freeway was reported to police at 9:50 p.m Saturday, said San Diego police Sgt. Brad O’Donnell.

When the victims — a husband and wife — went to exchange information, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and forced the victims out of their vehicle, O’Donnell said.

The suspects took their vehicle, cell phones, a wallet and a purse. Police later found the unoccupied vehicle in the 4200 block of 48th Street, he said.

Suspect one was described as a male Latino in his 20s wearing dark clothing with a bandana over his face. He was also armed with the handgun. The second suspect was described as a Latino male in his 20s with a bandana. The third suspect was described as a Latino male between the age of 25 and 30 with a medium build and short, black hair.

Anyone with any information regarding the robbery was asked to call the San Diego Police Department at (619) 531-2000.
