Average gas prices rise again in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose today for the 24th consecutive day, increasing 3.5 cents to $3.943, its highest amount since Aug. 3, 2015.

The average price has risen 30 of the past 31 days, increasing 62.1 cents, including 4 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

It is 24.1 cents more than one week ago, 62.1 cents higher than one month ago and 38.2 cents greater than one year ago.

The recent sharp increases are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
