4/2/19 Boys Lacrosse: Poway 16, Mt. Carmel 0

The Poway Titans broke a 5-game skid on Tuesday, dominating over Mt. Carmel, 16-0, in Palomar League play.

Junior Team Captain, Marquez White, got it started for the Titans, scoring a beautiful behind-the-back goal 30 seconds into the contest. The Princeton Tigers commit finished with a game-high, 5 goals to put him at 32 for the season. He is on pace to surpass Nick Beeson as the Titans’ single-season scoring leader.

Fellow captain, Eli Butler, who recently committed to Brown University, extended the lead with a goal of his own, while Christian Vierra scored his 1st-career goal for Poway.

Austin Contreras, Hunter Lutteckin, and Colby Crawford all finished with 2 goals each, while Micah Loy, Zachary Allums, Roman Nalder each scored once.

Ethan Vallese won 19 of the 20 faceoffs, while Ben Looges pitched the shutout in front of the net. Vallese stepped in as the faceoff when starting FO, Teague Morrissey came down with an illness this week.

The Titans go to 5-5 on the season, going into their big matchup against Corner Canyon out of Draper, Utah on Wednesday. They are now 2-0 in Palomar League play.

The Sundevils drop to 4-7 on the season. The play at Westview on Friday.
