Ballast Point Miramar brewery robbed at gunpoint

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – San Diego police sought Tuesday a man who robbed a popular Miramar-area brewery and its employees at gunpoint late Monday night.

The masked suspect entered Ballast Point Brewing Company on Carroll Way near Trade Street through a back door shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday, pulled a handgun and demanded money both from the business and the remaining employees, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The brewery’s tasting room closes at 11 p.m. The robber escaped with an unspecified amount before police arrived, according to the officer.

Police described the suspect as Hispanic and in his 30s. He was wearing a black ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and was carrying a black backpack.
