Ballast Point to close San Diego warehouse, closes Temecula brewpub

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Today Ballast Point closed its Temecula brewpub and announced its Miramar warehouse will soon shutdown. Ballast Point’s parent company, Constellation Brands, says their billion dollar investment “has not met expectations” and are closing the doors to the two locations due to “declining craft trends.”

Constellation CEO Bill Newland says the brewery has resulted in nearly $200 million in impairment charges.

Ballast Point’s main production brewery, also in Miramar, will remain open.

Ballas Point also canceled plans for San Francisco brewery.
