Bankrate calls San Diego 7th worst metro for first-time buyers

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A new study done by Bankrate listed the best and worst places for first-time home buyers and San Diego metro area came in as the 7th worst.

Bankrate said they ranked the 50 largest metros based on their affordability, culture, housing market tightness, job market and safety.

According to the the 2019 Bankrate Best/Worst Metros for First-time Buyers Study, Pittsburgh topped the list of metropolitan markets where home-ownership is attainable, safe and fun for residents.

Six out of the top 10 worst places for first-time buyers were in California, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
