Bicyclist injured in Chula Vista car crash

CHULA VISTA (CNS) – A cyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle at a Chula Vista intersection, police said.

The rider and the vehicle crashed in the intersection of Fourth Avenue and E Street shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday, according to a Chula Vista police statement.

The cyclist was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries he sustained in the crash, police said.

Southbound Fourth Avenue was temporarily closed at E Street as police investigated, the statement said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was cited in connection with the crash.
