Bicyclist killed in Ramona collision

RAMONA (CNS) – A 54-year-old bicyclist was killed Wednesday when a car hit him at a rural East County road crossing, authorities reported.

The westbound vehicle struck the man as he entered the intersection of Keyser Road and Warnock Drive in Ramona from the north shortly before 6:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and county Medical Examiner’s Office.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The Ramona man’s name was withheld pending family notification.

It was not immediately clear who was at fault for the accident.
