Bicyclist sent to hospital after hit and run

MISSION BEACH (KUSI) – Mission Beach hit and run left one bicyclist with a serious brain bleed.   

Investigators believe a 1990s red Toyota Camry hit the bicyclist around 9:50 a.m. at West Mission Bay Drive and Gleason Road, Officer Dan Lasher of the San Diego Police Department said.   

According to witnesses, passengers exited the vehicle after the crash and the driver drove away, but someone followed the car to Pershing Drive near San
Diego City College and recorded its license plate number, Lasher said.   

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of the brain bleed and a shoulder injury, Lasher said
