Bill Clinton urges supporters to stay with Hillary until June 7 California primary
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Wednesday — Former president Bill Clinton held a rally Wednesday morning at the Balboa Park Club, urging supports to stay with Hillary Clinton through the June 7 California primary.
"We’ve got to run this race to the end,” said the former president, who spoke for about 45 minutes before an audience estimated at 850.
"She’s got the best ideas to restore the middle class and restore upward mobility, both from poverty and working class into the middle class, and up,” the 42nd president said. "She’s got the best ideas to reduce inequality and increase investment in America.”
He also spoke about healthcare, college costs, job training, immigration reform and the frustrations exhibited by voters during the presidential campaign so far.
Clinton’s speech came one day after Hillary Clinton lost the Indiana primary to Sanders, but lost only a small amount of her commanding delegate lead.
Tuesday’s result was far more meaningful on the Republican side, where Donald Trump’s victory prompted Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to suspend his campaign. Trump’s only other opponent, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, is also reportedly preparing to drop out of the race.
Bill Clinton will visit Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon to rally support for his wife’s presidential campaign. He’ll speak at the Garden Suite Hotel in Koreatown and is also scheduled to deliver the commencement address at Loyola Marymount University on Saturday.
It is not yet clear when, of if, Hillary Clinton will campaign in San Diego, where Sanders held a rally in March. She is scheduled to be in East Los Angeles Thursday, and in Oakland on Friday.

President Bill Clinton will campaign for Hillary Clinton in California ahead of the June 7 primary.
President Clinton will attend public events in San Diego and Los Angeles where he will discuss why Hillary Clinton is the best candidate to raise wages and break down all the barriers holding families back.
Doors at the Balboa Park Club on Pan America Road West will open for the event at 9 a.m. Tuesday. The event is free and open to the public. To attend the rally, register here.
Clinton is expected to give the commencement address and Loyola Marymount University Saturday.
Monday — Aside from the candidates campaigning in San Diego, former president Bill Clinton will be here in San Diego on Wednesday to stump for his wife.
Clinton will be taking part in activities in Los Angeles as well as here in San Diego.
Some of the issues he is expected to discuss are job growth, as well as putting an end to discrimination.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign has not yet released details of where and what time the former president will speak.
