Bishop’s 34, Clairemont 0

This Friday night, August 29 at 7 pm, the Bishop’s School Knights will be traveling to Clairemont to face the Chieftains on their home field.

The Knights went 7-4 last season, and are coming back strong this year with 17 returning starters. This Bishop’s team is stacked with first and second team all-leaguers on both offense and defense, with an especially strong backfield thanks to running backs Bulla Graft and A.J. Britanico. The majority of Bishop’s starting defense is returning this year, adding much experience to their game. Bishop’s and Clairemont played each other in last year’s season opener, with the Knights beating the Chieftains 26-20.

The 2013 Clairemont team went 5-7 with a playoff win, but will not have Head Coach Gladnick returning this year. Instead, Defensive Coordinator Joseph Kim will be taking over as the new leader. Returning senior quarterback RJ McCoy is expected to be a key element on offense. Clairemont has depth with their RB’s that are able to move the ball on the ground as well as catch the ball. The Chieftain’s offense should be vicious. Similarly to The Bishop’s School, Clairemont has many starting players returning this year. Both Bishop’s and Clairemont are pushing to go above and beyond their performance last season, so look for these teams to come out with a vengeance!
