Bishop’s 42, La Jolla 7

The Bishop’s Knights beat the La Jolla Vikings 42-7 and took home the Pearl Street Trophy in its inaugural game. Knight’s AJ Britanico started the offense early with a big 28 yard reception. He then scored a touchdown on the next play on a 18 yard run. His quarterback Griffin Seaman had a strong performance as well. Seaman lead the Knights to touchdowns in 3 of their 4 first drives. Bulla Graft was also a huge asset on offense, scoring the Knights second touchdown on a 38 yard touchdown reception from Seaman as well as making an outstanding full extension diving catch in the third quarter for 38 yards with the Knights in a tricky third and long situation. Freshman sensation Mozes Mooney was also impressive, scoring a touchdown in the second quarter and locking up the Vikings receivers on defense.

Linebacker Jack Alred was all over the field and defensive lineman Daniel Anderson lived in the Vikings backfield.

The score was 21-7 at half time but the flood gates opened up for the Knights in the second half as they outscored their neighbors and rivals 21-0 in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

The 2-0 Knights will host Instituto Mexico next week, while the Vikings (2-1) will travel to Fallbrook. The two schools will play again next season.
