Week 7: Bishops 51, La Jolla Country Day 19
The Rivalry game Friday took place honoring the artistic athletes of La Jolla Country Day. Unfortunately, the Torreys weren’t able to come out on top, as the final score resulted in a 51-19 Bishop’s School win.
The Knights started off slow, and the Torreys were taking the lead until the Knights senior quarterback found his grove for the night and produced many two points conversions to secure the score.
For the Knights, Gabe Thomas ran the ball for a touchdown run to answer right back making the score 8-7 with a successful two-point conversation at the beginning of the game.
Quarterback Dominic Haley threw the ball to Clay Petry for a 17-yard touchdown pass, increasing the score to 22-7 Knights
Shortly after, Haley once again found Champion Johnson for another 17-yard touchdown pass then making the score 30-7, Knights.
After many productive runs by the leader Haley, he was able to lead his team to victory.
This is the sixth year in a row Bishop’s has won the school rivalry game against the Torreys.

This Friday night, the Bishop’s Knights (2-3) will head over to La Jolla Country Day (2-4) for one of the biggest games of the season.
Kick off time will begin at 7 p.m., as the two teams will go to battle against each other. This game will be the start of league play and is a school rivalry game.
Since this is a school rival game, both teams are expected to bring on their best performance to take the win.
Last year, the Knights managed to beat LJCD by a significant amount due to the production on offense, and the outstanding defense. However this is a new year, and the Knights have a target on their back.
If Bishop’s can put the defense and the offense together to be consistent in this game, they will have success.
The home Torreys have a redemption game due to last years upset against the Knights. They have the home field advantage this week and are coming off of a loss last Friday, which means they are eager for a win.
Nothing is more motivating for teams than a good old rivalry game and assuming both teams are going to give it there all until the end, you won’t want to miss Friday’s action.
We will be there, will you? Tune in to KUSI PPR on Friday night at 10:45 for final highlights and scores, and follow us on twitter @RedJacketArmy.
