Bloomberg qualifies for South Carolina primary debate along with five other candidates

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Democratic Presidential Candidate Mike Bloomberg has qualified for next week’s debate in South Carolina.

The former New York Mayor qualified after a survey released earlier this week shows him over the event’s polling threshold.

He was shown to have the support of 14 percent of Democratic voters, according to an NBC News/ Wall Street Journal national poll.

Candidates Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sen. Elizabeth Warren have already qualified for Tuesday’s debate.

KUSI Political Contributor Joseph Perkins was in studio to discuss Bloomberg’s recent surge in the polls, and how his performance in the last debate may have affected those numbers.
