Boat runs into rocks at Point Loma

POINT LOMA (CNS) – A small boat ran onto the rocks at the tip of Point Loma Sunday, prompting lifeguards to rescue the two men aboard and tow the vessel to safety.

The boaters were rounding the tip of Point Loma around noon when waved pushed the boat onto the rocks, lifeguard Lt. John Sandmeyer said.

Neither boater was injured and the boat was later pulled off the rocks, he said. Sandmeyer attributed the incident to “operator error.”
