Body found in City Heights
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A body of a man believed to be in his 50s was discovered in City Heights early Friday, and homicide detectives were investigating, police said.
The body was found by a passer-by near 39th Street and University Avenue just before 3:40 a.m., according to San Diego police.
The man apparently walked a ways before collapsing because officers found a blood trail going back about third-quarters of a block from where the body was found, SDPD homicide Lt. Kevin Rooney told reporters at the scene.
The man sustained severe head trauma, but the official cause of death was under investigating, according to police.
His identity was not immediately known.
