Body found in Lemon Grove, Sheriff’s homicide investigating

LEMON GROVE (CNS) – A man was found dead Sunday near some trolley tracks in Lemon Grove and homicide detectives launched an investigation.

The body was found shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the bushes near the intersection of Lemon Grove Avenue and Palm Street, according to sheriff’s officials. The body was that of a man in his 50s to early 60s, it was reported.

The man’s body had signs of traumatic injuries, although it was not immediately clear if they led to his death, sheriff’s Lt. Kenneth Nelson said.

Nelson said that because of those injuries, the sheriff’s department’s Homicide Detail had begun an investigation. However, the county Medical Examiner’s Office would determine how the man died, he said.

He asked anyone with additional information to call the sheriff’s department at (858) 974-2321, or after hours at (858) 565-5200, or to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
