Bogart Fire burning in Riverside County believed to be “human-caused”
The brush fire burning in Riverside County Wednesday was believed to be human-caused, Cal Fire determined.
Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department had the 1,250-acre Bogart Fire burning near Beaumont and Cherry Valley 20 percent contained Wednesday. One firefighter was injured in battling the blaze.

An investigator with Cal Fire determined that the fire that broke out around noon Tuesday was “human-caused.”
“Anyone with information witnessing or have knowledge of juvenile activity near the north end of Winesap Avenue near the entrance gate to Bogart Park in Beaumont around 12:30 p.m. this afternoon (08/30/2016) is urged to call the Arson Hotline at (800) 633-2836. All calls are anonymous.”
About 400 firefighters, nine airtankers and five helicopters were battling the 1,250 acre fire Wednesday.
Banning Bench and the Highland Springs RV Park were evacuated around 6 p.m. Tuesday but orders had been lifted just before 11 p.m.
