‘Boil water’ ban lifted from campgrounds in Mount Laguna
MOUNT LAGUNA (KUSI) – The "boil water" order was lifted Tuesday for campgrounds at Mount Laguna supplied by the federal water system.
The order was given after the federal system was found to be contaminated with coliform bacteria for the third time this year.
The order affected three campgrounds, Horse Heaven, Laguna and El Prado. It did not affect residences or businesses.
According to the county Department of Environmental Health, the bacteria in water samples usually means contamination came from dirt or other environmental sources.
The DEH said the remaining portions of the water system operated by the U.S. Forest Service were not affected.
