Boise bound Skinner headlines City early signees
KUSI Sports has a new famous viewer…with a one track agenda.
“When you were doing that little TV show last night…if you hadn’t put on that Broncos cap I was gonna come tackle you,” Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin said to his newest signee over the phone Wednesday morning.
“Of course I put on a Bronco hat,” Point Loma senior JL Skinner replied, tugging on the freshest piece of blue turf right upon his noggin.
The six foot four powerhouse officially has a new home, committing to the runner up of the Mountain West conference as a defensive back.
“It’s finally some stress off my shoulders,” Skinner said. “I’m glad to be a Bronco and ready to get it going.”
10 miles to the northeast, tears were spilling as mom and son had a post Signing Day hug.
Tears of joy are acceptable here, especially when your three star running back and Fastest Man in San Diego on the track is going to USC.
“It’s a great accomplishment,” Madison’s Kenan Christon said. “Not only am I getting a great education, but I’ll also have great relationships with others.”
And at Francis Parker, the band is breaking up. Long snapper Peter Bowden is going to Wisconsin. The man he snaps to, punter Ryan Sanborn, is headed to Palo Alto.
“It’s a life changing decision,” Sanborn said. “Both Peter and I are making decisions that will affect us for the rest of our lives.”
