Bonita Vista Barons 41; El Capitan Vaqueros 6

The Bonita Vista Barons pulled off a dominating victory over the El Capitan Vaqueros 41-6. It was all Bonita in this one as quarterback Anthony Posada could not be stopped in this game as he threw 3 touchdowns and had a rushing touchdown as well. Posada’s deep ball was effective all game as he had outstanding receivers like Keenan Ellis and Jacob Rozar. Ellis is a track star and it definitely showed on Friday nights match-up as he could not be covered by any of the Vaquero defense. The Barons defense was remarkable as they shut down freshman quarterback Wick Hauser after he has a terrific season. Bonita will have a tough challenge next as they will head to face Mater Dei Catholic, a team that has been dominating all season and has only lost one game this season. As for the Vaqueros their season comes to an end but they have plenty to look forward to in the upcoming season as they will have a lot of key returners and led by quarterback Wick Hauser. Will Bonita pull off the huge upset next week over Mater Dei? Tune in to KUSI’s Prep Pigskin Report at 10:30 PM Friday night to find out!

Preview: The Bonita Vista Barons will head to the east county to face the El Capitan Vaqueros in the second round of division 2 playoffs. Last week the Barons took down the West Hills Wolfpack 27-10 and have some momentum coming into this game. The Vaqueros had a bye week for first round of playoffs because they were the 3rd seed. Coach Burner and his team know that the Barons will bring everything they got, but the Vaqueros have had two weeks of practice and fresh legs to prepare for this game.

Bonita Vista Barons offense is led by senior quarterback Anthony Posada who just cracked the 2,000 mark in passing yards for the season. Posada’s favorite target will be Keenan Ellis as the two connected for two long touchdowns in last week’s win. The Barons ground game is led by running back Dean Klaser.

As for El Capitan, the offense is led by a freshman quarterback who has been an outstanding quarterback all season, Wick Hauser. El Capitan’s defense will have to step it up on Friday night in order to stop Posada and Klaser.

The winner of this game will face the winner of the Otay Ranch vs. Mater Dei Catholic game. Two teams eager to get into the division 2 semi-finals but only one team will want it more. Who will it be? Tune in to KUSI’s Prep Pigskin Report on Friday night at 10:30 PM to find out.
