Boy found stabbed near High School, suspect in custody

POMONA ( KUSI ) – A 17-year-old boy was found stabbed Thursday in front of Garey High School in Pomona and a suspect was arrested.

Officers were called about 1:20 p.m. to the school at 321 W. Lexington Ave. and found the victim — who does not attend Garey High — suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to the Pomona Police Department.

The boy was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds, police said.

“Officers immediately canvassed the area and located and arrested the suspect believed to be responsible for this incident,” according to a police statement. “Garey High School was not impacted. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.”

Police did not immediately release the names of the victim or the suspect.
